Gandhi Bhattarai, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC — founder, Arbour Longevity.

The three certifications, and why the combination is unusual

Board certifications are easy to list and hard to interpret. Here is what each one actually means.

FNP-BC — Family Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified

Certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. This is the primary care foundation: whole-person assessment across the lifespan, prescriptive authority, and the training to recognize when a symptom belongs to a system other than the one being complained about.

PMHNP-BC — Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified

Also through the ANCC. This is the one that is rare in this field, and it is the one that changes the appointment. Hormonal change does not present only in bloodwork — it shows up in sleep, mood, concentration, motivation and libido. In most healthcare settings those symptoms get referred to a different clinician entirely, and the two halves of the picture are never held by the same person.

Anti-Aging and Functional Medicine, Board Certified

Through the American Academy of Procedural Medicine. This is the training that underpins the root-cause approach: advanced lab interpretation, hormone optimization, metabolic health and the protocols used across the clinic.

What that means for the person in the chair

A patient in her forties who is not sleeping, has gained weight she cannot shift, and has lost interest in things she used to enjoy would, in most systems, end up in three separate appointments with three separate people — and possibly on a medication for each symptom.

Here, one clinician looks at all of it at once and works out what is driving what. That is not a marketing position. It is a direct consequence of holding those three certifications at the same time, and it is why the first appointment is long.

She owns the practice

This matters more than it sounds in a market full of franchises and satellite locations.

At Arbour Longevity there is no rotating provider, no prescriber reporting to a medical director in another city, and no corporate protocol that has to be applied regardless of what your labs show. The person who evaluates you is the person who owns the outcome, and she is in the building.

What she treats

How she practices

  • Labs first. Nothing is prescribed before results are back.
  • Every marker explained. You should understand what was tested and why.
  • An honest no. If what you need is not something the clinic offers, you will be told.
  • Continuity. The same clinician at the first visit, the results visit and every review after.

The first visit is $35 and it is applied toward your plan. What is right for you depends on your labs, your history and what your body is actually doing — which is exactly what the appointment is for.
